Physiochemical and in-vitro Cytotoxicity Properties of Biocompatible Palm Fatty Acid-Based Polyesters

چکیده

With the sharp rise in global interest sustainability and environmental concerns, there is a growing demand replacing petroleum-derived raw materials with renewable plant-based production of polymers. In this study, two palm fatty acid polyesters were synthesized from palmitic stearic acids. Their chemical structures identified by FTIR 1H-NMR analysis. Both showed moderately high conversion rate value determination. DSC analysis that polyester (PAP) had lower Tg than (SAP), where PA P 1.8 °C, while SAP 31.9 °C. TGA demonstrated thermal decomposition both took place via two-stage processes, which occurred above 200 GPC PAP (1031 g/mol) higher Mn (972 g/mol). MTT assays performed to determine cytotoxicity these against human keratinocytes (HaCaT), mouse fibroblasts (3T3), hepatocytes (H2.35), canine kidney cells (MDCK) dose- time-dependent manners, SDS serving as experimental benchmark. Comparative test biocompatibility non-cytotoxic cell viability well 80%, except low on remaining 50.4% following 72 h exposure at 100 μg/mL concentration. These findings suggest natural-sourced have potential be used pharmaceutical nutraceutical applications.
